It can be said that anyone can take a picture, but to create art is a talent very few can possess. Elin Strigå is one of those people who can say she is an artist, and her work is a unique result of her unique temperament.
Elin was one of the co-founders of the Nocturnal Models Agency which formed in 2003. Educated in Arts of Photography in Sweden, she began to develop her own personal style within her imagery which contains an impressive portfolio ranging in macabre, fantasy, as well as band and glamour shots. Not a stranger to being published, she is at home behind the camera.
She uses a unique style of lighting that can project emotion in an image. Giving the subject a character, which results in an image that reads as a story. Her fearless creations delve into the dark areas of the mind that mainstream imagery sometimes fears and tackles subjects such as suicide and the macabre with a beautiful feminine touch, leaving the viewer intrigued with the poetry of the colours, lighting, as much as the subject she has shot.
Many of the female models who have worked with her have told me that they love shooting with her, because she understands women so well and can show beauty in all sizes and faces.
In short, her images are a work of art that is the unique result of a unique temperament. Her images show the story in her mind, heart and soul. She is a wonderfully unique artist, of whom we are grateful for the work she has given us. Each individual image manages to capture a view of the subject that only she can capture, as she places herself so deeply into the construction of each shot. It is an art form for her. A form of expression. And we love it.
